TNI News Service
Webdesk, TNI Kolkata 8th June, 2016: After a long wait Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Formerly known as WBUT) declared its exam time table yesterday online. Also according to the sources, the official date sheets have come to all the exam centers across the state. There was some confusion regarding the declaration of the timetable because of the fate of the finally placed students was hanging in a balance. This is because; most of the companies have already announced the date of joining of the finally placed students. The condition cited by most of the HR dept to join the companies was to sit for the final semester examination. Since the exam schedule was expected to be delayed because of the assembly elections in the state. Most of the Placement cell of various colleges under MACAUT has delayed the proposed date of joining. However, till the day before yesterday, there was no sign of the exam schedule. Finally placed students got irritated. Sources say that such students were either knocking the University office or their respected colleges. However, yesterday there was a sigh of relief when MACAUT formally announced the date and time of the odd and even semester examination. However, the confusion again aroused when the students of 8th semester (4th year) saw that one of the exams was scheduled on June 19th, (SUNDAY). As far the tradition goes no academic examination was held on Sunday earlier. Diptojyoti (name changed on request), a fourth-year engineering student from an engineering college of Saltlake under MACAUT said that “I have never seen Sunday as a date of any University exam before, I am confused that whether that is a printing mistake or what”. Another girl from the same college said “I think there will be a change again”. No officials of MACAUT were available for comments on this matter. Now, it’s a matter to see what happens next.
